Non summer months. Weekends to the general public by reservation.
Open at 1 PM, close at 4 PM. Special reduced pricing with tour and magic show combined. Admission 14.95 per ticket payable in advance.

(2) THE EVENING SHOW "HAUNTED" IS AVAILABLE TUESDAY, THURSDAYS AND SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS YEAR ROUND BY RESERVATION. Reservations required.
(1) The Houdini Tour & Magic Show is a non-stop wonderful major event in the world's only building devoted to most famous magician of all time, Houdini, who did many special challenges here. Unique attraction to this area. The New York Times, the most critical paper in the world, called our events "high quality entertainment." Family friendly for all ages, from 3 to 93. Includes a fabulous fun stage magic show in our intimate theatre with noted professional magicians with live animals such as doves, a rabbit, a duck and two poodles. The performers have starred on HBO, Discovery, Biography & Travel Channels, as well as ABC,CBS & NBC. Dorothy Dietrich was called by the Columbia Encyclopedia as "one of the most noted magicians of the late 20th century." Includes a fun guided tour of the historic collection in the 100 year old building, and the rarest film footage of Houdini doing escapes. Seen on hundreds of national television shows. Not to be missed. 1433 N Main Ave, Scranton, PA. I-81 to exit 190 (Main Ave) left two miles. Open at 1 PM, continuous till 6 PM from JULY THROUGH LABOR DAY. Other months call. Holiday weekends such as Mothers Day, Memorial Day, etc, and most Saturdays throughout the year. They even float a audience member up in the air, pass a hoop around them and float them back down. Great fun, educational and motivational too. Featuring Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brooks. The fun event can take 2 hours or longer. Earlier tour and show tend to be a bit longer.

Learn the story of the murder/suicide/electrocution in this 100 plus year old "haunted" building. Attend a seance, which is part of this highly acclaimed 3 hour plus paranormal event! Each of our school assembly programs drive home the importance of the main keys to character ... trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. David Blaine Is considered for First Ever Houdini Award!Magician David Blaine nominated for consideration for first ever Houdini Award from Scranton's famous Houdini Museum. Scranton, PA. Sept. 23, 2008 Because of David Blaine?s Houdini-esque stunts the Board of Directors of The Houdini Museum in Scranton has decided to place David Blaine up for nomination for the first ever Houdini Award to be given out by the prestigious museum. When David Blaine is buried alive for seven days, frozen in a block of ice or hung up side down for 60 hours, he credits Harry Houdini's legendary escapes as his inspiration. In April, Blaine broke a world record by holding his breath underwater for 17 minutes and 4.4 seconds, another Houdini inspired stunt. Others who have been nominated include James Randi, Dorothy Dietrich and Caesar Pelez of Le Grand David. Criss Angel, David Copperfield, and Penn and Teller were in the running for nomination but did not make the cut this year. The winner of the award is to have a special coin minted in their honor. The Houdini Museum, a 501 C-3 non-profit organization, is the only building in the world dedicated to Houdini and has been located in Scranton, Pennsylvania for the past 20 years. We've done the Original Harry Houdini Seance here LIVE online for 15 years on Halloween. We did them for 15 years in New York City which was Houdini's official home town as an adult. Pictured at one of our Harry Houdini seances are magic legends Walter B. Gibson (in overcoat), Dorothy Dietrich, and Milbourne Christopher. Walter, Houdini's ghostwriter & confidant wrote the famous Shadow series and over 2,000 books, many on magic as well as on Houdinifrom the escape artists notes. Bess Houdini asked him to continue the Harry Houdini seances when she stopped. He passed on the legacy, responsibility and honor to celebrity magician Dorothy Dietrich, who's on our Board of Directors.

TRAVEL CHANNEL & THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL.
MONTEL WILLIAMS SHOW! Dorothy Dietrich was on the Montel Williams Show recently as well as the Discovery Channel and Exploring The Unknown. Montel, called her "The World's Leading Female Magician and Escape Artist," showed clips of her doing the Jinxed Bullet Catch at Resorts International in Atlantic City and she escaped from a straight-Jacket. The show sought out the world's greatest women in various fields. Dorothy is the first woman in history to accomplish the jinxed catch in the mouth. The one stunt Houdini backed down on! She's also the first women to escape from a Straight Jacket with a burning rope, a stunt Houdini never did. Discovery Channel has done several different segments at the Houdini Museum. This past year we have been on The Travel Channel's "Magic Road Trip," and Biography and the BBC's "Dead Famous. Soon to be seen on "100 Myths & Legends!"
